Place Holding
Dear Readers,
It’s Monday, and that means a new Lost Girl review! Unfortunately, I’m working on a show which has put me up at a hotel which – though perfectly lovely in the little things such as ‘clean shower’ and ‘nice bed’ – has WiFi which is utterly overwhelmed by multiple people using it all at once, as tv crews tend to do. Multiple calls to the front desk resulted in my being told to call the service provider myself, so I did their job not once but three times, because, internet! Alas, even that has left me an island in a sea of people connected to the real world.
I’m writing this on my phone, but the review and pictures are on my laptop; porting them over and attempting to format the whole thing on my phone is simply beyond my powers. As tomorrow is a travel day, I will find internet, format, and post it some time then. Thanks for your understanding.
And beware Best Westerns. Their internet is from 2002, and they don’t aim to do a thing about it.
Ah, showbiz.
You feel my pain.
What movie? And, we still lurve you.
A TV show, actually; Hotel Hell.
And, aw, thanks! (Whether you lurve me despite the review being late, or despite my working in the industry. 😉 )
Is the show seriously called Hotel Hell and then you had internet issues? 🙂
It is, and the irony, it escapes me not. Although, the crew does not stay at the subject hotel – that would result in no crew fairly quickly. We got treated quite well a ways out from set.
And BW and other chains may not always be in the 21st century, but if they pulled some of the stunts these other places did, they wouldn’t exist.
A “Kitchen Nightmares”-esque show?
Exactly-esque. Fox.com has some episodes from the first season, if you’re interested in scratching the voyeur itch reality tv is so perfect at reaching.
Why not tether your laptop to your phone’s connection, so you can use a real computer for internetting?
Since I hadn’t rooted my phone before, I didn’t want to try then. Perhaps I should, before the next trip.
Oh that’s right, I forgot that you have to root your phone to do that, haha. Don’t blame you, then – nothing worse than bricking your phone where you need it most.
